Masamune Shirow Hyperpage

Its Christmas today and with the New Year's approaching, its holiday season. The MSHP wishes all its readers a happy and safe holiday and may next year bring us more Shirow goodness! ^_^ Here's a little checklist of what we can look forward to in 2006:

• At least 2 out of 8 Galgrease Artbooks by Shirow
• Ghost In The Shell 1.5 (English Ver by Dark Horse)- Monthly
• Tank SWAT 01 in April 2006
• Poseidon Project: Appleseed Movie No.2 (Summer 06?)
• Poseidon Project: Appleseed the TV Series (Summer 06?)
• Appleseed the PS2 Game (? 2006)
• Ghost In The Shell SAC Novel Vol 1: The Lost Memory by Junichi Fujisaku in April 06
• The rest of the GITS SAC 2nd GIG DVDs in English

Did I miss anything? :) Anyway, 2006 is shaping up like a very decent year for Shirow fans, so we hope that all the projects go smoothly.

Over at Production IG, everyone's in a holiday mood too, especially since the company's stock price goes Up 3.5x:

Kabushiki and Radio Nikkei report Prodcution I.G.'s IPO of 510,000 Yen increased to 1,500,000 Yen at the market close of first day' trading on the JASDAQ, December 21st. The second day saw a 3.5x leap over the IPO asking price with a close at 1,800,000 Yen. Source: Anime News Service

Well done to all I.G. staffs! More GITS next year I hope? :D

Oh, I might as well add that over at the English Production IG Website there's an update with an overview of the Playstation GITS Game animation including all the credits.

Didn't realise (or I didn't go through the PS Game Artbook as thoroughly as I thought) that the animation was actually done by the studio so its quite an informative article. I like this quote:

Compared to the movie directed by Mamoru Oshii, the style is closer to Shirow Masamune's original comic, with a glamorous Motoko and a far more aggressive Fuchikoma.
