Another Motoko Kusanagi figure up for pre-orders! This one's a Wave, coming in November 07. Part of the "Treasure Figure Collection" series. She's a bit on the small size, only 1/10 scale (about 170mm) and retailing at 4,800 Yen. Motoko Treasure's got some pretty handy accessories though, and the Laughing Man stand looks nice :) See for yourself.

Release Date: Late Nov
Price: 4,800 yen

Well, I think the prototype gives quite a fair impression of what the final product would look like. The final touches look kinda rough though, to be honest... anyway, if it floats your boat, Motoko Treasure is now up for pre-orders at your fav Japanese hobby store. I've booked mine (it is a Motoko Kusanagi figure after all :P)
Thanks Jeff. You're really fast! :)

The regular blue Nendoroid Tachikoma (by Good Smile Company) was announced for pre-order in May 07 with a release date of Sep 07. And since, a yellow and silver version of this Tachikoma has been spotted at various hobby shows and exhibits. They are finally confirmed for November 2007 release. So its time to book your sets at your favourite Japanese toy sources :)

(Details are for ONE Tachikoma, they are releasing at the same time)
Manufacturer: Good Smile Company
Scale: Non
Material: ABS
Producer: Ryuichi/Kosuke Ebisawa
Release Date: Nov 07
Regular Price: 4,000 yen
Length: Approx 130mm

It seems to be a trend nowadays, whatever the Tachikoma model / figure, there will be at least a yellow version or more. Anyway, as this is a set and I like the Nendoroid versions, Good Smile Company once again has my hard earned cash for each of the blue, yellow and silver.

By the way, can someone please explain what's the difference between a "Tachikoma" and a "Tachikomans"? I have been noticing both versions used lately on tachi products

First and foremost, very sorry for the lack of updates from myself for the past weeks. I'm just really swamped at the moment with work :( But no matter. What's important today is that we have news of the Intron Depot 4 Space Pirates! Yes, there will be 2 versions, and they will be Beagles. Due this October 07, with a price tag of around 5800 Yen per piece. And no, this time, no fancy limited editions. So feel free to place your pre-orders at your preferred Japanese toystores.

Release Date: Oct 2007

I actually preferred the red version. But it doesn't matter cos' I'm getting both versions :) Not entirely sure if Red pirate has the "ahem" bust option, but its not really an issue is it? September for Motoko, October for the Pirate babes, and some Tachikoma in between. Its going to be a good year this 2007.

There's so many things to talk about- the new WHAM Batou Tachikoma, sneak peaks at the Shizuoka Hobby Show, my latest (Shirow box) aquisitions... hopefully I will have some free time to update everyone in the coming days. In the meantime, enjoy the Space Pirate babes :)

No wonder we don't hear or see much of this gorgeous Solid State Society Motoko Kusanagi 1/8 PVC. Due this September 2007. She's a Good Smile Company (so I was very wrong initially when I thought she was an Alter x Vice) and exclusively available through Amazon.co.jp only. Nope, I know what you're thinking. I tried. The orders are restricted to Japanese domestic address only. Guess the only way is still via Japan...

Another much awaited Tachikoma that has been teasing us incessantly since... well, that was a really long time ago! October 2007 is the date to mark on your calendar folks. While this is a Tachikoma product, someone else stole the limelight - the Major! She is just looking absolutely stunning in this set!

Motoko Height approx. 95mm

Man I'm already feeling some twinge of regret splurging hard earned cash on the plastic Megahouse Perfect Piece Tachikoma... Shiny metallic diecast Tachikoma is definitely the way to go :) Price tag is expectedly hefty at almost 17,000 Yens. But then no diecast toy is cheap, especially if the character is as popular as Tachi-kun. The legs still worry me though. Seems like standing steady will be an issue yet again.
Enough about Tachikoma. This is the real star of this package. I think the Motoko Kusanagi figurine looks fantastic. I think she makes adds a significant value to the overall 17,000 Yen package. Good Smile Gokin, make me smile more by making a 1/8 articulated Motoko Kusanagi, please! :) Die cast if possible instead of plastic.

So, put in your orders at your choice of store if you thnk this is worth the whopping 17000 Yen. I'm a Tachikoma nut, so its kind of a default decision. Especially when it is a diecast :)

Hey, I've been waiting for this! :) The Nendoroid Tachikoma has been showing up in toy exhibitions here and there for the past year or so and it is great to know that this lil' cutie is finally up for pre-ordering.

This should be a really cute and happy Tachikoma. I'm very much looking forward to it :) I'm having a few Nendoroids in my collection right now (non-GITS of course) so a Tachikoma is more than what I could ask for. Yellow Nendoroid Tachikoma has also been sighted, I think we'll hear about that one too some time soon.
So, pre-orders are up. Put in yours at your favourite toy place. I've booked my piece :)

A Photographic review or just an excuse to post some hot sexy Tachikoma picture? A bit of both actually :) The MOVIC Tachikoma was a really fun set of mini goodness. And I just happened to have a sexy PVC around which complements the multi-coloured Tachi-kuns quite nicely.
MOVIC Mini Tachikoma Vol.1 (6 Colours + 2 Bonus Colours)
Box of 12.
Note: Sexy bikini babe not included ;)
She is Alter's Swimsuit Saber (From Fate Stay Night series), in case anyone wanted to know.

Added some more :)

So which one is your favourite colour? Let me know at the comments :) Since, my MOVIC Vol 2 has arrived with more wild colours and patterns. That will be another review at another time. Wallpaper will be put up for download at the members section of the Shirow Fan Forums :) Maybe I should make wallpapers of all the Photographic Reviews from now on? Enjoy collecting!

WAVE announced some time ago about a series of completed 1/24 scale Tachikomas which will be released monthly. The first one was released today- the "original" Blue Tachikoma with Motoko.

W.H.A.M. Tachikoma (Completed)
攻殻機動隊 S.A.C. 1st ã‚¿ãƒã‚³ãƒž ABS製アクションフィギュア
Maker: Wave
Scale: 1/24
Material: PVC ABS
Release Date: 24 April 2007
Price: 3,600 yen
W.H.A.M. stands for
WAVE High Advanced Model
for those who are curious to know. No idea why this series is called that way but what the heck- completed Tachikoma AND Motoko figurine! All colored and ready for display, that's most important. The WAVE 1/24 construction kit Tachikoma is very well done, so I have some degree of expectation with this completed version from WAVE. However, looking at pictures of the in-box product, I have my reservations also- those support cups all around the Tachi looks like the same old bad news :(

At the time of this post, Hobby Search still have stock of this 1st WHAM Tachikoma. Unsure of the popularity of this series, but if you're interested, better don't wait too long :)
My set was pre-ordered. And with some long holidays coming up in my country next week, Maybe I'll receive it about end of next week. Will write more when I get my set...

I don't know if this is a good idea or not. Everyone's doing it, including ArtStorm / Fewture so why not Megahouse? I dont see any necessity to elaborate, as it is just a yellow version of the Perfect Piece Tachikoma. Maybe Motoko will have a new costume? (Maybe not..) We'll just have to wait and see. Pre-orders are now open for this Tachi at your preferred online / actual Japanese figures source.

This is such a big headache... guess I need to decide if its worth collecting this one or not...

This is such depressing news :( Yes, she is for real. And I missed out on such a beauty of a resin kit. I talked about this REFLECT (Mitsumasa Yoshizawa) Motoko kit some time ago (Link to old post here). In summary, this Motoko Kusanagi 1/6 Resin Kit is sculpted by Mitsumasa Yoshizawa (a commission I presume) and produced by RC Berg Japan. It is a Hobby Japan (January 07 Issue) exclusive, where you need to buy the magazine and mail in the order card to get a piece. It is not mass produced and sold on store shelves. And the finish cast is exquisite. This Motoko is one very fine piece of work...

p/s: Txupa, thanks for the alert on the bid, I saw your comments :) Very expensive compared to the original price now :(
