Requiem En Fur Menschen (Toshiba EMI Classical CD Compilation)

ID2 2080

All info sourced from ID2 Blades. Sorry I don't know anything else at the moment. The 'Requiem for Mankind' CD series by Toshiba EMI was intended to introduce new listeners to Classical music. Apart from doing the jacket illustrations, Mr Shirow was also responsible for selecting his favourite tracks for the series. Most tracks are just samples and not in its entirety (This is afterall just an introduction to Classical music CD!).
Comissioned in 1995, the illustrations done for the CD Jackets are still in Shirow's analog style. Shirow explains that he is tying to minimise the 'anime' look in his drawings as these CDs would be on the shelves in music stores.
Among the tracks mentioned: Brahm's German Requiem, Haydn's The Creation, Handel's Messiah, Bach's St. Matthew Passion, Rossini's Stabat Mater, Holst's Mars, Verdi's Aida and Shostakovich.
