In Intron Depot Blades, Mr Shirow mentioned that the illustrations done for this Demon Hunter series, produced in 1997-98 were omitted in the collection as it would skew the book to a more erotic direction. Let's leave it at that. The illustrations are definitely erotic, and with Shirow in charge I'm sure alot of you out there wants this book desperately.
I get alot of e-mails asking about how to get the book. Therefore, I will do everybody a favor by just making a short guide on how to get the Jashin Hunter novels. So please, I hope this answers most of your questions!
Japanese Book Chains
The best way to get a Japanese novel (or manga and book) is to place a special order through your local Japanese book-chain. I understand that most Japanese stores do customer orders, and the book-chain where I used to get my mangas and Japanese books is Kinokuniya Books. Check their webpage to see if they have a store around your area.
When ordering you will need the following infos: Title, Author, Publisher, ISBN. All these are available from the Book Information section after this. So, talk to the sales clerks. I'm sure they can help you out.
Online Stores
There are lots of online store specializing in Japanese anime, manga, books and related merchandise. One I know that can get you Jashin Hunter is Otaku Publishing. Its a UK-based mail-order company and very reliable. UK residents should check out Otaku UK instead. As long as the book is in print, they will get it for you. Catch? Credit Card... and of course a healthy bank account!
Hands-On
Go to Japan. Or get a friend in Japan who is familiar with the manga/anime scene. I know that as of now (June 1999) Jashin Hunter is still available at some specialty manga stores, or any major bookstores carrying Seishinsha's publishings, under the novels section.
That's all I can recommend. Good luck and I hope these informations help.
