Book Summary: Collecting the color works of Masamune Shirow since the beginning of his professional career, Intron Depot 1 is described by Shirow as a way to 'put this period of my work behind me and move on'. A fairly complete collection of Shirow's full-color works during the period, the only pieces omitted were 34 pages from The Ghost In The Shell and the Exon Depot series. Some pictures were published here for the first time and also some rough drafts. Spanning a period of 10 years, it can be seen how Shirow's art has progressed since the Black Magic days. Apart from the really nice pictures, ID1 also helps in further appreciation of Shirow's manga series, as most of the collected works are related to his manga works. Also, Shirow's footnotes were as usual- detailed, informative and entertaining. An essential, must have book for any Shirow fan.
