About Chinese (Taiwan) Edition of Ghost:
![]() The joys of cyborgization. Even the nurse gets turned on! |
My preference when collecting Shirow's works is the Japanese original, followed by Chinese editions. This is because they retain the manga without flipping and is in a language I understand. Also unlike English editions, a lot of the Kanji sound effects, backgrounds, colour pages etc. were left as it is. The Chinese GITS mangas I have were split into two volumes, and they even include the fade-in colour pages originally in the Japanese edition. The translation work is excellent (even the technical terms) and all the footnotes were maintained in their original positions. High quality Chinese translated mangas like these are very faithful to their Japanese originals. However, the Chinese editions have proven to be very rare and hard to find. So if any of you out there can help me get any Shirow work published in Chinese, drop me a mail. I'm very interested. Thanks in advance. GITS book infos below. - Lucas. 24th Sept 00' |
