I feel that above anything else, fan arts are probably the most exciting and interesting fan tribute to an artist and certainly one as talented as Sensei Shirow must have lots of admirers. But, I'm not seeing them around a lot. The MSHP has served the Shirow fan community for years, and I think its time you fans give something back in return! ^_^ But, as a further incentive I'll throw in something good - a prize for the best entry! I'm sure lots of you have wanted to draw Shirow fan arts for a long long time already so this is the best excuse to do it! ^_^ Read through the rest of this and start drawing! And please, help spread the word. Tell your friends and / or other fan artists whom you think might be interested!
This is mainly for fun as I'd like to see more Shirow fan arts, but since we have prizes involved, I'll need to put down some conditions to be fair to all. By submitting fan art(s) for this contest, it is assumed that the guidelines and contest 'rules' below were perfectly understood and agreed upon. Any doubts, questions, mail me first!
General Guidelines:
- Free Theme. As long as its Shirow-related. Can be characters, mechas, scenery, conceptual design, CG, pencil sketch, inked sketch, monochrome works, illustrated essay, short manga (bonus points!!), long manga (extra bonus points!!).
- This contest is free for all from anywhere around the world. However, credits and prize will only be given to the person who submits the artwork, unless I am informed otherwise. So please take note, and don't claim credit for other's works without permission! That's bloody cheating.
- You may submit as many pieces as you like for each contest.
- The pictures and fan art submitted belongs to the artist, and full credit will be given. It is assumed that by submitting, permission is given to me to display the artwork at the gallery and I get to keep a copy for my personal collection - nothing more. However, if you want to make it a gift art for me, I'll be very very thankful! ^_^
- Caution on hentai-related artwork. I don't think its appropriate, so its not allowed. But you can make your art as sexy as you like.

- You can submit your artwork via e-mail or real mail (you're more than welcome to do so! ^_^ E-mail me for my address). Caution on e-mail submissions, I'll be keeping my inbox free for about 1.8MB, so if you are submitting anything more than 500 KB at one time or successively within a short period, notify me first before sending!
- Please use a valid e-mail address or some form of contact when sending, and notify me of any changes. I will need it to get in touch with you if you win the contest.
- Indicate 'Shirow Fan Art' (or something like that) in the subject line or somewhere in the mail content.
- Please include the following with your submission (to accompany your pic. display at the contest gallery)- Name and a short description of the artwork. And if you want me to display anything else; your e-mail, URL, anything at all, please let me know.
- Submission deadline is at the last day of contest. Anything received after closing date (UK time) will be brought forward to the next round. ^_^
Judging and Prizes:
- To pick the winners for each contest I'll be consulting a select panel of people - friends, Shirow fans, non-Shirow fans - but I'll have the final say (after all I'm the one giving away the prizes).
- I will pick three winners, but only the best one will receive a prize. Although generally I'm just offering one prize per contest, I might bend the rules a bit if I feel very strongly that more than one fan art truly deserves some prize reward.
- The winner will be announced at the contest gallery page, and I will e-mail you. 5 days to reply, and if I don't hear from you by the end of the 5th day (UK time!), the 2nd place winner gets the prize and so on.
- I have the final say on anything with regards to the contest and the prizes. And I reserve the right to accept or reject any submissions. I also reserve the right to ammend the rules and guidelines if really necessary, so always double check.
- To be fair I have decided that prizes will not be awarded to the same person twice in a row. You may win more than one prize (if I do this contest with some frequency) but not consecutively. However if your artwork deserves the #1 spot, acknowledgement will be given and I will mention that in my comments. But please don't let this stop you from submitting more artwork frequently! Afterall, this is mainly for enjoyment and I certainly hope all you out there is not joining merely for the sake of the prizes!

- All artworks copyrights the respective fan artist, Sensei Shriow Masamune and the relevant publishers.
- This contest is in no way or intent commercial, just feel that fans should draw more Shirow fan arts as a tribute and show of appreciation to Sensei Shirow and his amazing works.
- Any infringements, anything inappropriate, please inform me.
Well, now that all the 'formalities' are out of the way, come on guys and gals, draw your Shirow fan arts and be creativite. And please have lots of fun doing it! You can be sure that I'll love each and every piece of fan art submitted, and I thank you all in advance for taking the time and trouble. And also you don't have to be really talented to win- ideas, originality and creativity count a lot too. So I hope to receive lots of fan arts! ^_^ Hopefully...

Plus Kenichi Sonoda Sensei's art is nothing short of amazing! Artists should note Sonada Sensei's simple, neat yet very impressive art style.
